About Our School

Nautilus Montessori School is a private Preschool /Pre Kindergarten/ Kindergarten offering an academic, Montessori education in a safe, nurturing, in-home setting. Our school was established in 1980 by our Directress, Ronnie Binczewski. Initially our school was a Parent Participation Infant/Toddler environment. The purpose of the school was to provide new parents hands on lessons in Montessori practice and Infant/Toddler development. The parents were then able to return home and implement the information they had learned for optimal development of their young child. As the children grew, demand for a preschool, then kindergarten also grew. Our present school has evolved to meet the needs of the community. We now offer academic programs for 2-6 year old children.

At Nautilus, children are provided a prepared Montessori environment and the skilled instruction to use the provided equipment. In so doing we aim to create lifelong learners who have a passion for learning. And in keeping with Montessori principles, we strive to develop a strong emotional and social foundation with self-reliance and World Peace as its goals. At Nautilus we encourage your child to live by the Montessori principle, "Help me do it myself".

Our Hope

The Nautilus is often seen as symbolizing infinite growth. This is because the Nautilus, as it grows, creates a larger chamber ahead of its body and moves its growing body into this new space. It then seals the vacated chamber. As long as it lives, the Nautilus must keep building new chambers; it cannot go back to old ones that do not fit nor can it stay in its present space. Yet what came before is always with it.  This infinite intellectual growth and expansion symbolized by the Nautilus is what we hope for the children who join our community at Nautilus Montessori School.
