Nautilus Montessori School Yearly Events
Family Socials...Our school community is provided opportunities to gather for relaxation, friendship and dinner once a month during the months of April through September. Everyone in our students immediate circle of family and friends is welcome to join in. Each family brings a food dish or two to share. This is a particularly delightful time for the children! Close Family friendships lasting a lifetime have arisen from our Family Socials!
Family Socials occur at various city parks in the local area. If you would like to join us for an evening of getting to know us, do phone for date and place.
Parent Orientation occurs in September. This is an evening meeting where parents are introduced to the lessons and concepts their children will be working on throughout the school year. The more you know, the more you can reinforce the lessons!
Saturday Open House is offered three or four times throughout the nine month school year. This is an opportunity for you to come to the classroom with your child and work. Your child is your 'teacher'. Children so enjoy having their close family members in "their school". These are not advertised to the public.
Parent Night Out! is offered on a Saturday evening for children attending our school and their siblings. This is usually a 4-6 hour block of time for 'childcare' at school for a minimal cost.
January Parent Conferences occur the last half of January each year. A short written assessment is provided to the parents. Goals for the next four months are discussed. Summer and Fall upcoming scheduling is also considered.
May End-of-Year Parent Conferences provide parents with a highly detailed written assessment of their child's progress throughout the nine month school year. The written assessment shows EXACTLY the work each child has mastered, the next steps, notes on social/emotional development and examples of current work.
Family Photo opportunity by our professional school photographer is offered each Fall and Spring. These occasions provide you the time and place to have individual, groupings and Family photographs taken in a relaxed familiar setting. Most families are missing the yearly "family" picture which includes both parents. These offerings are also great times to create lasting memories with "Grandparent and Grandchild".
